Doubled production capacity with white ink printing
Optimum efficiency
Signbox is an award-winning signage company with over 38 years of experience delivering signage to clients globally. Their reputation is built on pushing creative boundaries — producing signage that inspires, motivates, and empowers their clients' brands. As a production-scale signage business handling projects from corporate headquarters branding to architectural wayfinding, Signbox needs equipment that matches their ambition for creative quality and their commitment to sustainable production.
Signbox needed to upgrade their large-format printing capability to keep pace with growing demand and evolving client expectations. Two specific requirements drove the investment: white ink capability, which opens creative possibilities on transparent, coloured, and dark substrates that standard CMYK printers cannot achieve; and improved sustainability credentials, as clients increasingly ask for environmental responsibility in their supply chain. They also needed to increase production capacity without compromising on output quality — particularly for the detailed, colour-critical brand work that defines Signbox's market position.
Colyer supplied two HP Latex 800W printers, providing both the white ink capability and the production capacity Signbox needed. The HP Latex 800W uses water-based latex ink technology — producing vibrant, durable output without the VOC emissions associated with solvent-based alternatives. White ink enables printing on transparent media, coloured vinyl, and dark substrates, opening a range of creative applications that were previously impossible or required complex multi-step production processes. Installing two units gave Signbox redundancy for continuous production and the capacity to handle multiple large projects simultaneously.
White ink capability opened new creative possibilities across Signbox's project range — enabling effects on glass, transparent media, and coloured substrates that clients had previously been unable to achieve. Production efficiency improved with two units providing parallel output and redundancy against downtime. The switch to water-based latex technology strengthened Signbox's sustainability credentials, supporting client ESG requirements and reducing environmental impact. The investment reinforced Signbox's market position as a premium, innovation-led signage partner.
Having two HP Latex 800W printers has transformed our production capabilities. The white ink option has opened up creative possibilities.
